Peter Minko

Peter Minko is a specialist and professional artist who interprets the unique Australian landscape and flora. Peter’s skills are recognised in the 21st century as extremely rare. With his beginnings as a potter in 1977, he has developed into an extremely gifted artist-craftsman, making pieces of true excellence.

Peter has established his own unique and professional style, and this culminates in an art form, second to none in Australia, in this 21st century.

Peter’s artistic accomplishments are recognised by the Federal government who for the last 10 years have commissioned his work for official presentations.

Peter was given recognition in 2002 for his work as the designer of a range of porcelain dinnerware for Australian Fine China (Perth). When Australia commemorated the Centenary of Federation in 2001, Peter was one of 80 artists chosen from the last 100 years to exhibit his work in a major exhibition (Porcelain Art into the New Millennium ) held at the National Gallery in Canberra.
In 1998 Professor Qin Xilin, Great Master of Arts from the Jingdezhen Institute of China, (which is considered the Porcelain capital) acquired a piece for the university collection.
In 1997 the Victorian Guild of China Painters, acquired a piece of porcelain for inclusion in their historical collection. This piece is now on permanent display.

Peter's work was included in the book Contemporary Studio Porcelain by Peter Lane. This book features a range of work from around the world with an emphases on technical and aesthetic developments in porcelain and bone china over the past twenty years.

On many occasions during Peter’s career, various organisations and companies, including many from his home state, have commissioned him to design works of art.
